Terrix® PR-DP
deep penetrating primer
for low-bearing substrates

Advanced solvent-free primer concentrate engineered for both interior and exterior applications. Highly resistant to alkalis and water-repellent, this innovative formula provides superior performance even in challenging conditions.
Perfectly suited for weathered, aged, and highly absorbent substrates, including dusty or deteriorated surfaces. It effectively strengthens adhesion for subsequent layers, equalises substrate absorbency to prevent stains or uneven finishes, and binds loose particles to stabilise the surface.
Ideal for use in renovation projects or on compromised substrates where durability and performance are essential. Designed to deliver flawless results in both residential and commercial settings.
Benefits
Main properties:
- Designed for deteriorated plasters and highly absorbent, dusty substrates;
- Equalises substrate absorbency;
- Strengthens adhesion of subsequent layers to weak or compromised substrates;
- Suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
Technical Data
Base binder: solvent-free coating based on synthetic dispersion resin;
Colour: white;
Usage: approx. 0.15–0.20 kg/m² (depending on substrate absorbency);
Temperature of application (air and substrate): from +5°C to +25°C;
Relative humidity: ≤75%;
Packaging: single-use plastic containers of 1 kg and 5 kg;
Storage: the product should be stored in its original sealed packaging in a cool, dry and frost-protected room. After opening and using some of the contents, the packaging should be resealed, and the remainder of the product should be used as soon as possible;
Shelf life: 6 months from the production date (factory-sealed packaging).
CAUTION: Keep the product out of reach of children.
Application
Substrate preparation:
- The substrate must be fully cured (approximately 4 weeks for new plasters after completion) or adequately dry and stable;
- Ensure the substrate is sound and as clean as possible—free of loose, non-adhering particles, delaminations, and contaminants such as oil, grease, or biological growth (e.g., algae or fungi). Residual dust from weak plasters is acceptable as the primer is designed to stabilise such surfaces;
- For substrates contaminated with algae, fungi, or mould, clean the surface with a power washer, followed by the application of a suitable biocide solution in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines;
- Remove all visibly loose, non-bonded layers, such as peeling paint or heavily flaking plaster, without over-preparing the substrate;
- For greasy or heavily soiled surfaces, clean thoroughly with water and an appropriate cleaning agent. Ensure the substrate is degreased and sufficiently dry before application.
Preparation:
Dilute the primer with clean water at a 1:10 ratio (1 part primer to 10 parts water) and mix thoroughly until a uniform consistency is achieved.
Application method:
- Application tools: The primer should be applied using a brush or roller. Spraying is not recommended due to the presence of fillers, which may affect application efficiency;
- Additives: Do not add extra binders or other additives which may compromise the product’s performance. After dilution, do not add additional water.
Drying:
The drying time of the primer applied to the substrate is approximately 12 hours (+20 ° C and relative humidity 65%).
Lower temperatures and higher humidities will increase the drying time.
After priming, enclosed areas should be properly ventilated.
Application conditions:
The air temperature should be above + 5 ° C during application and drying.
Wash the tools immediately with water after finishing the work.
Carefully cover or protect adjacent building elements to prevent splashing.
