Terrix® PL-SX-S
spray plaster

Terrix® PL-SX-S is a ready-to-use plaster coat for machine-levelling interior walls
and ceilings. For final levelling and smoothing of surfaces before painting.
Its white colour and smooth surface allow for a reduction in the number of coats necessary to obtain a full decorative effect. When set and hardened, very easy to sand.
Suitable for all typical mineral surfaces (such as concrete, cement, limestone, lime
and gypsum plasters and plasterboards).
Formulated to maintain drying performance under elevated relative humidity.
Benefits
Benefits to the customer:
- Higher productivity outputs – up to 500 m²/man/day;
- Due to the full vapour permeability of the Terrix® spray plaster, there is no need to wait for taping and jointing to be fully dry – the product can be applied on the same day;
- Chemical bonding – the product is permanently connected to the substrate. There is no risk of cracking or flaking;
- Chemical accelerated set – the product is less sensitive to weather conditions, meaning Terrix® spray plaster is ready for painting usually the next day, in extreme situations, after 3 days. Traditional skim coats and competitor’s spray coats during winter conditions need up to two weeks to be ready for painting;
- Very clean application process – spray plaster is premixed and does not require water or mixing on site. Additionally, there is almost no overspray, which means very little cleaning after application;
- The quality of the finish is much better than standard skim coat plastering or other systems. It delivers a very smooth, decorative surface quality not achievable with skim coat plastering;
- The Terrix® Spray Plaster is fully compatible with Terrix® premium dispersion-silicate paint;
- The chemical formulation of the product and its application prosperities allow for a more consistent finish leading to very little snagging;
- Health and safety benefits:
• Less operatives on site leading to reduced risk of accidents.
• Reduced risk of falling from heights – the ability to spray up to 3m without scaffolding;
• Very clean application process – spray plaster is premixed and does not require water or mixing on site. Additionally, there is almost no overspray which means very little cleaning after application;
• Reduced dust risk on site. If Terrix® Self-levelling spray plaster is used, no sanding is required;
• No mist produced during spraying – safe for application without dusk masks.
Benefits to the applicator (subcontractor):
- Lower labour cost due to the increased output. Up to 500 m²/man/day;
- Ready to use – no mixing or water on site required;
- Less skilled labour is required due to the ease of application. Terrix® spray plaster is extremely easy to spray, wipe and sand;
- Minimising days on-site – Due to the products permeability and partly chemical set capabilities, the work process can be accelerated, in return releasing the areas ahead of the program for other trades;
- Highly reduced snagging due to consistent finish;
- Easy sanding – for the initial 20 days after application, the product is very easy to sand;
- Silk consistency – very little snagging after application;
- Chemical accelerated set – ready for painting usually the next day, in extreme situations, after 3 days.

*Usage conditions:
The product can be used or applied in higher humidity levels; however, it is crucial to ensure that the product is not exposed to high humidity or condensation for repeated or prolonged periods in order to maintain its optimal strength and adhesion.
When applied in temperatures between +5 °C and +10 °C, the product’s drying time may be extended,
and its performance can be influenced by factors such as humidity and ventilation.
Consider these environmental conditions during application and drying to achieve the best results.
CAUTION: Keep the product out of reach of children.
Application
Substrate preparation:
Apply only on a sound and clean substrate free from dust, grease, loose material, delamination and any biological or chemical contamination. The surface must be dry
and must not show signs of algae or fungal growth.
If microbial contamination is present, clean the surface with a power washer. Afterwards apply an appropriate biocide according to its instructions for use. Remove any loose
or unbonded layers such as flaking paint or weak plaster. Wash and degrease old or dirty surfaces with water and a suitable cleaning agent. Fill holes, cracks and irregularities according to good building practice.
Substrates coated with stable dispersion paint should be sanded and thoroughly dedusted before application.
Note: For newly applied mineral substrates such as cement-lime renders, cement renders or concrete, allow a minimum curing period of two weeks before using the product
Priming:
Prime absorbent substrates with Terrix® PR-UA before applying the spray plaster.
Ensure the primer is applied evenly and allowed to dry in accordance with its technical data sheet.
Product preparation:
The product is ready to use. Do not dilute. Stir thoroughly before application to ensure a uniform consistency.
Application method:
Apply a thin, even layer of the product onto the substrate using an airless spray machine. The application thickness may vary from a film coat up to 2 mm. Use only equipment designed for spray-applied plasters such as the T-MAX by GRACO or high-performance paint sprayers including the GRACO Mark V, WAGNER HC 940 ESSP or the WAGNER SPEEFLO PT 6900 XLT DI.
During application the spray gun should be held perpendicular to the substrate.
Maintain a spraying distance of approximately 1.0–1.2 m when using the GRACO T-MAX,
or 0.5–0.6 m when using the GRACO Mark V.
For substrates with greater unevenness, the product may be applied in multiple layers. Apply each subsequent coat only after the previous one has fully hardened. Once fully dry, the surface can be sanded.
Sanding:
Use orbital sanders fitted with a dust extractor. Recommended sandpaper grit: 180–220.
Drying:
At 20 °C and 55 % RH the surface can be further processed after approximately 2 hours.
Drying time may vary depending on substrate absorbency, layer thickness and air circulation.
Application conditions:
Apply only when the air and substrate temperatures are between +5 °C and +25 °C.
Clean all tools with water immediately after use.
