Terrix® IP-AT
white acrylic trade paint

This dispersive interior paint is expertly formulated for the aesthetic enhancement of building interiors. It is particularly recommended for application on walls and ceilings in dry residential, utility, warehouse, and industrial environments. The paint is ideally suited for the initial application on various mineral substrates, including concrete, cement plaster, cement-lime plaster, lime and gypsum plasters, and gypsum boards. Furthermore, it is compatible with substrates previously coated with synthetic-based finishes and coatings.

Benefits

Main properties:

  • High Opacity:
    Provides excellent coverage, effectively concealing the underlying substrate with fewer coats;
  • Wash-Resistant:
    Offers high durability against cleaning and washing, maintaining its finish over time.Compatibility with mineral substrates and previously painted surfaces;
  • Suitable for Mineral Substrates and Previously Painted Surfaces:
    Adheres effectively to bare mineral surfaces and surfaces pre-coated with paint;
  • Favourable Quality-to-Price Ratio:
    Delivers high-quality results at a cost-effective price, representing good value for money;
  • Suitable for Airless Application and Manual Application:
    Versatile in application methods, ideal for airless spray techniques and traditional hand application.

Application

Substrate preparation:

The substrate must be sound (without cracks or fissures), degreased, clean and dry, and free from stains and efflorescence of biological and chemical origin. The substrate must be mechanically cleaned if fungal growth is present and then decontaminated with a fungicide. Discolouration, nicotine stains and efflorescence from water spots should be coated with Terrix® IP-SB stain blocker beforehand. Any loose layers that are not bonded to the substrate (e.g. loose plaster or peeling paint) must be removed. Residues of adhesive or lime paint must be removed thoroughly, and the substrate must be washed with water. Old and/or soiled substrates should be cleaned and degreased with water and a cleaning agent. If the substrate irregularities are significant, the wall should be initially levelled with Terrix® RN-LF 8 mortar. If applied indoors, the whole surface should be smoothed with Terrix® PL-SX/PL-SX-S plaster.

PRIMING: absorbent substrates should be primed with Terrix® PR-UA before using the compound and/or plaster. Fresh cement and cement-lime plaster can be painted after a 3-4 week seasoning period, and gypsum plaster after 2 weeks. Drywall can be painted directly after sanding and dust removal.

Note: Substrates of low wettability (such as topcoats based on polymers or dispersion paint coatings) should not be primed and only washed with water with the addition of a cleaning agent. Before the paint is applied to polymer-based substrates, a test is recommended.

Preparation:

The packaging contains a product ready for use. If necessary, the paint can be diluted with a small amount of primer Terrix PR-UA (adding to the first coat a maximum of 10% by volume).

Application method:

Apply the paint to the substrate in two coats using a brush, a roller or spraying (including the “airless” method). Wait to apply the second coat of paint until the first one is completely dry, i.e. after a minimum of 3-4 hours. Use a special sheepskin fleece roller with a bristle length of min. 18 mm is recommended.

Q&A

Terrix® IP-AT is a white acrylic trade paint designed for interior applications. It provides high opacity, wash resistance, and is suitable for mineral substrates and previously painted surfaces.

This paint is ideal for walls and ceilings in dry residential, utility, warehouse, and industrial environments. It adheres well to mineral substrates such as concrete, cement plaster, cement-lime plaster, lime and gypsum plasters, and gypsum boards, as well as previously painted surfaces.

The paint can be applied using a brush, roller, or airless spraying. For best results, it should be applied in two coats, with a drying time of at least 3-4 hours between coats.

The paint offers high wash resistance, meaning it maintains its finish even after cleaning. It also achieves full mechanical and functional properties after 4 weeks.

The paint should be stored in a cool but frost-protected environment in its original sealed packaging. The shelf life is 12 months from the date of production.
