Terrix® IP-AC
acrylic paint for walls and ceilings
Terrix® IP-AC is a dispersion-based interior paint designed to deliver high-quality decorative matt finishes for walls and ceilings. Ideal for both new and renovation projects in low-humidity interiors, such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, offices, and conference rooms. It can be applied to:
-
- mineral substrates: concrete, cement, lime, gypsum plasters, and plasterboards.
- existing coatings: previously painted surfaces with stable synthetic or mineral-based paints.
Benefits
Main properties:
- High Opacity
Effectively masks underlying colours and imperfections, providing a uniform and clean finish; - Enhanced Resistance to Washing and Abrasion
Designed for areas requiring frequent cleaning or exposed to wear, ensuring a durable and long-lasting surface; - Versatile Application
Suitable for a wide range of substrates, including mineral surfaces (e.g., cement-lime renders, concrete) and previously painted surfaces; - Optimised Application Properties
Offers excellent consistency and ease of application, reducing splatter and improving efficiency for professionals and DIY users; - Extensive Colour Range
Available in a wide selection of shades, customisable to meet project-specific requirements via the Terrix Colour System.

Application
Substrate preparation:
The substrate must be sound (without cracks or fissures), degreased, clean and dry, and free from stains and efflorescence of biological and chemical origin. The substrate must be mechanically cleaned if fungal growth is present and then decontaminated with a fungicide. Discolouration, nicotine stains and efflorescence from water spots should be coated with Terrix® IP-SB stain blocker beforehand. Any loose layers not bonded to the substrate (e.g. loose plaster or peeling paint) must be removed. Residues of adhesive or lime paint must be removed thoroughly, and the substrate must be washed with water. Old and/or soiled substrates should be cleaned and degreased with water and a cleaning agent. If the substrate irregularities are significant, the wall should be initially levelled with Terrix® RN-LF 8 mortar, then smooth it with PL-SX plaster. For minor irregularities, use PL-SX plaster directly.
Priming:
The priming method depends on the desired final result, the substrate and the application method and should be consulted with the PCC Terrix technical department.
Preparation:
The packaging contains a ready-to-use product. If required, add a small amount of clean water: max. 10% for the first coat and max. 5% for the second coat (quantity of added water may vary for different substrate types, weather conditions and application methods).
Application method:
Apply the paint in two layers using a brush, roller, or spray application (including the airless method). Using a painting roller with an 18 mm sheep wool nap is recommended. The second layer should only be applied after the first layer has completely dried.
Drying:
The drying time of one coat of paint applied to the substrate (at a temperature of +20°C and relative humidity of 55%) is approximately 3 hours.
Note: Substrates with low wettability (e.g., synthetic plaster finishes or dispersion paint coatings) should not be primed. Instead, clean them with water and a cleaning agent.
Note: Low temperatures and high air humidity prolong the drying time of the coating.
The coating achieves its full mechanical and functional properties after 4 weeks.
Useful hints:
To avoid colour differences, it is necessary to execute a surface forming a separate architectural unit in one working cycle with material from the same production batch. During the application and drying of the paint, the air temperature should be above +5°C. Wash the tools with water immediately after the work is completed.
For surfaces exposed to unfavourable lighting conditions, we recommend using a deeply matt paint such as Terrix® IP-ST-P, Terrix® IP-LT, or Terrix® IP-AC-NR.
Optional Add-Ons:
- Microfibre Reinforcement
Adding microfibres to the paint makes it suitable for use on substrates with cracks up to 0.3 mm wide (e.g., shrinkage cracks in mineral plaster). This additive enhances the paint’s ability to cover and stabilise minor cracks. - Anti-mould and Mildew Protection
Upon request, a specialised anti-fungal additive can be incorporated to increase the paint’s resistance to mould and mildew growth.
Airless spraying:
