Terrix® IP-AC-T
acrylic interior paint
translucent

A modern paint based on aqueous acrylic dispersions, intended for performing decorative, glaze (translucent) paint coats inside and outside buildings, including in Terrix® EWI – external insulation systems.
It can be used to create a wood effect, architectural concrete and aged brick effect.
Recommended for accentuating the decorative texture of the substrate. Allows unlimited possibilities of shaping an individual décor, matched in colour and style to a specific interior. Allows coatings with various painting effects inspired by the decorator’s imagination and skills. For decorative finishes in public interiors (e.g. hotels, shops, restaurants, offices and conference rooms) and representative residential interiors (e.g. living rooms). Especially recommended for rough surfaces with attractive textures (e.g. thin-coat stucco or smooth texture). Suitable for mineral substrates (e.g. traditional cement and cement-lime plasters and thin-layered mineral plasters) as well as well-bonded, plastic-based surfaces.
NOTE: As the paint is acrylic based, it is not vapour-permeable and can not be used with polymer-silicate or silicate products or for coating dump substrates.
Benefits
Main properties:
- Unlimited possibilities for interior decoration;

- Used as a finishing layer in combination with opaque paints and plasters;

Application
Substrate preparation:
The substrate must be sound (without cracks or fissures), degreased, clean and dry, and free from stains and efflorescence of biological and chemical origin. The substrate must be mechanically cleaned if fungal growth is present and then decontaminated with a fungicide. Discolouration, nicotine stains and efflorescence from water spots should be coated with Terrix® IP-SB stain blocker beforehand. Any loose layers that are not bonded to the substrate (e.g. loose plaster or peeling paint) must be removed. Residues of adhesive or lime paint must be removed thoroughly, and the substrate must be washed with water. Old and/or soiled substrates should be washed and degreased with water and a cleaning agent. If the substrate irregularities are significant, the wall should be initially levelled with Terrix® RN-LF 8 mortar. If applied indoors, the whole surface should be smoothed with Terrix® PL-SX/PL-SX-S plaster. Absorbent substrates should be primed with Terrix® PR-UA before applying the compound and/or plaster. Fresh cement and cement-lime plaster can be painted after a 3-4 week seasoning period, and gypsum plaster after 2 weeks. Drywall can be painted directly after sanding and dust removal.
Priming:
The priming method depends on the desired final result, the substrate and the application method and should be consulted with the PCC Terrix technical department.
Preparation:
The packaging contains the product ready for use.
The paint can be diluted with a small amount of clean water (adding 5% by volume). When determining the amount of water, consider the type of substrate, drying conditions and application technique.
Stir the paint thoroughly immediately before use.
Application method:
Depending on the desired decorative effect, the paint can be applied to the substrate in one or two coats using various painting tools (e.g. brush, roller, sponge, pad, rag, paint glove or spraying). Apply the next layer of paint only after the previous layer has dried. Subsequent coats of paint may vary in colour and application technique as required. A freshly applied layer of IP-AC-T paint is well-workable, and the final effect depends solely on the skill and imagination of the applicator.
Drying:
The drying time of one coat of paint applied to the substrate (at a temperature of +20°C and relative humidity of 55%) is approximately 3 hours.
Note:
Low temperatures and high air humidity prolong the drying time of the coating.
Ventilate rooms after painting until the specific odour disappears.
The coating achieves its full mechanical and functional properties after 4 weeks.
Useful hints:
To avoid colour differences, it is necessary to execute a surface forming a separate architectural unit in one working cycle with material from the same production batch. During the application and drying of the paint, the air temperature should be above +5°C.
Wash the tools with water immediately after the work is completed.
